And not only Europe, Slovenia is also a part of the European Union. Slovenia joined the European Union in 2004 and adopted its currency Euro and as well it entered the Schengen area in 2007. It also held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2008. Slovenia's economic activities are thus mainly focused on the other European Union economies but trading with non-EU countries is increasing. Also, there are other benefits as lower mobile phone expenses when traveling within the European Union. Not to mention lower banking costs.
